Mr Ewan Kannegieter, founder of Kann Foot Surgery, is a leading Consultant Podiatric Surgeon with over 20 years’ experience successfully treating foot pain.
He undertakes over 800 surgical foot procedures each year for patients across the South East of England. Based at 4 key centres across Herts and Essex, Mr Kannegieter provides effective solutions for many foot and ankle conditions, including bunions, hammertoes, heel pain and many other painful foot conditions.
A previous winner of the prestigious Glasgow Caledonian University Clinical Medicine Prize, he graduated from the university with a distinction in Podiatric Medicine in 1999 and went on to further his training in Bishops Stortford, Epping, Colchester, Ilkeston and Reading before gaining his fellowship in Podiatric Surgery in 2012. Following three years as a Specialist Registrar in Podiatric Surgery at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Mr Kannegieter relocated to the Essex countryside, where he now works both privately and for the NHS as a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon.
Mr Kannegieter is a registered tutor in Podiatric Surgery and has lectured at various regional and national conference with the College of Podiatry. He is an instructor for Marquardt at their bi-annual lower limb surgery cadaver course in Frankfurt and works as a consultant for Novastep Inc. on product design for the foot and ankle surgery market.
He is also increasingly involved with NHS England and NHS Improvement (EoE) helping develop networks and training opportunities for podiatry and podiatric surgery teams to play their part in the management of patients with diabetes. He co-chairs the EoE non-medical prescribers forum to help maximise the use of Independent Prescribing and leads a regional Podiatric Surgery Clinical Governance group with teams along the A12 corridor from Ipswich to Peterborough.
