Dr Climie qualified from St George's Medical School in 1986. After specialist training around South London he qualified as a GP in 1992 subsequently joining Sutherland Lodge Surgery, Chelmsford as a partner.

Dr Climie spent 24 enjoyable years at Sutherland Lodge becoming a trainer and developing an interest in dermatology and dermoscopy.
In 2015 the practice received an outstanding rating from the CQC but the following year, after a well -publicised dispute regarding a planned severe cut in their funding, Dr Climie and his partners all resigned and he then became a private and sessional GP.

Dr Climie now splits his time between part-time GP work at Stock Surgery near Ingatestone and his private GP work at the Phoenix Hospital Chelmsford.
He has maintained his interest in dermatology but enjoys all aspects of GP work. Dr Climie is also qualified to undertake Ionising Radiation and Asbestos medicals as an Appointed Doctor for the HSE.

When not working he plays a lot of tennis and tries very hard to do Monty Don's
Jobs for the Weekend in the garden.
